Other than Michael Phelps, what other interesting athlete is there to see in the Olympics?

Tyson Gay (USA) and Asafa Powell (Jamaica) showdown in Men’s 100M dash. Gay is going for a three-gold medal sweep in the 100M, 200M and the 400M relay. while Powell is trying to avenge his loss to Gay in the World Championship and aiming to lower his world record in the event.

Allyson Felix is also aiming for a three-gold medal haul if she wins the 200M, and the relays but she is planning to join the 400M and possibly the 100M.

Shawn Johnson, Alicia Sacramore and Anastasia Liukin, daughter of 1988 Olympic horizontal bar gold medallist, Valeri Liukin, will spearhead the US team in trying to win the gold medal in Gymnastics team competition.

Bernard Lagat of the U.S., who won the 1500m and 5000m at the World Championships. There is also the Chinese 110m hurdler Liu Xiang, who won the 2004 Olympic gold and will be the heavy favorite to repeat in his home country. There will be a ton of pressure on him from his entire nation to win gold again. In gymnastics, the Chinese teams, both men and women, will also have a tremendous amount of pressure on them to win gold, so that will be VERY interesting to see what happens there.
