Anyone knows the impact of Michael Jackson during the cold war years? Was it illegal for Russians, Chinese or Eastern Europeans to listen to MJ ? It must have been awful for those governments to accept such an American influence in their countries.
I think during the cold war. The US and Russia were fighting in every front, including music, sport, and art in general.

    No not at all, my family is from Soviet Union and no, the cold war was mostly politics, people could listen and do almost what they wanted to, my dad used to listen to the Beattles and MJ and nobody had a problem with it
